Protection for Fuel Cells – Contamination Control

In fuel cells, hydrogen and oxygen react to produce water and, in doing so, generate energy and heat. The oxygen required for this chemical reaction is taken from the ambient air; the hydrogen is either generated from natural gas or, in its pure form, taken from storage tanks. Because air pollutants like particles and harmful gases negatively affect the performance and durability of fuel cells, we must ensure that the fuel cell stack is well-protected.

Ion Exchange Filters remove ions from the fuel cell coolant even under harsh environmental condition in order to keep conductivity low. The innovative product can be mounted in any direction in bypass flow with multiple connecting options. A patented internal lattice structure eliminates de-mixing of Ion resin due to vibration. Above this it offers low pressure drop combined with high resin utilization for increased lifetime. These series come in 4 sizes to cover a wide range of applications and meet all customers’ requirements.
